******************************** **** RacerMAME, new options **** ******************************** *** joy_saturation *** default 0.7 Change this value to extend/reduce the actual steering angle: lower values will INCREASE the actual steering angle, higher values will DECREASE the actual steering angle. If you are using an optical steering, modify the analog sensitivity (TAB menu -> Analog Controls -> Sensitivity) not this option (for more info google for "MAME spinner turn count"). This option is included in more recent versions of MAME (since 0.113), but was not in 0.106. *** geartype *** default 0 -2 Way shifter, not reversed Check what type of shifter your cabinet is equipped with and set geartype accordingly: 0 - 2 ways single microswitch shifter 1 - 2 ways single microswitch shifter reversed 2 - sequential shifter If you noticed that while the gear shaft is in Hi position the car actually goes to the lower gear, your gear is "reversed". Set this option to 1 if your 2-ways, single microswitch arcade shifter is hardware reversed. *** steertype *** default 0 -potentiometer type (270 degrees) steering Some games included in RacerMAME can handle opti (1) and pot (0) wheel types via DIP switches: setting this option correctly will pre-set those switches for you ;) Setting steertype to 1 (optical) also removes steering input modifications on optical-native games (i.e. Pole Position, Roadblasters) where the analog options can be perfectly tuned via the MAME analog options (TAB menu). RacerMAME shows configuration input warnings at each game first run. Actually these warnings are only useful for potentiometer type steerings (this is because mine is a pot arcade cab and i have not an optical one) so setting this to 1 (optical type steerings) will hide the warnings. I am planning to introduce warnings for optical type steering wheels (email me if you have some).
